Rocky Mountain Blues

Today I’m being featured by Quill Writers, who have posted a little science fiction piece I’ve written. It’s a glimpse into the sci-fi novel I’ve got in the works, which takes place in a futuristic Denver, Colorado. It goes a little something…like this:

The street was both dingy and brilliant at once, the sprawl in the heart of Denver at the base of the huge concrete pillars that held up I-25. The interstate roared in the distance, a background to the heavy dubstep beat from the club across from them. Bright tubes of light advertising bars, pawnshops, love hotels cast their colors onto a dark street. Hookers with their glowing beads and luminescent tube bracelets stood at the edge of the sidewalk. Drug dealers lurked in shadows, hooded sweaters pulled over foreheads. Reminding Cat she needed to score, and soon.

…to read the rest, check out my post on the Quill website.

If you’re interested in reading more of my fiction, I’ve posted a short story about a man with PTSD. You can read an excerpt from my novel in progress, Dark City, and the sequel, Light in a Dark Sky.
